it is bad for your stomach... you are having messages sent to your brain to digest the food a.s.a.p. and on the other hand your body is going into a relax state of sleep...intern this slows down your metabolism and the food gets digested slower sometimes this can lead to heart burn late at night, because your body was made to digest food while in a vertical position (by the help of gravity), and by going to sleep in a horizontally it doesn’t let your food settle correctly causing intestinal muscles to work harder that in turn it feels like a stomach ache...that's why it is recommended to wait a while before you go to sleep so that proper digestion can take place

It sounds to me like your 9:30 pm meal may be really high in carbohydrates of the high glycemic type. Feeling really sleepy is one effect of eating a high glycemic carb meal. No real side effects unless you are already tending toward weight gain or are diabetic.
The diabetic diet I follow recommends a snack (not meal) right before bed of 1-2 oz of protein (think 1-2 hard boiled eggs), a bit of low glycemic carbohydrate and some good fat (think almonds or peanuts). You may stay awake a bit longer as a result.

it depends on what you eat and how much. if it is a light, healthy snack part of a meal plan, then it won't hurt you as long as you are exercising during the day. some people find it unpleasant to eat right before bed as this can cause heart burn, upset stomach, nightmares, a visit to the bathroom, etc. it depends on the person...no one can say that you will have any negative effects of a light snack before bed. try it and see what happens. just don't gorge before bed. that will cause weight gain which you probably don't want.

It can be beneficial to a good night's sleep if you eat something light before you got to bed. Eating a banana or a slice of bread, basically something containing carbs but nothing too heavy, will help you sleep better.

Acid reflux is a major concern with eating and then laying down soon after. If you must do so at the very least, use some pillows to prop yourself up at least at a 45 degree angle.

When you eat late and go straight to bed, you do not burn off the calories you have taken in. It is also very unhealthy on your heart. It puts a lot of pressure on your heart.
Instead, try to eat earlier or if you have to eat, eat less.

I ate late one night and fell asleep. I was wakened abruptly by the manager telling me the restaurant had closed.
If it's a Denny's, you may not have any problem.
Hope this helps.

It depends on your lifestyle and health--usually none. See this article about exploding the myth about night eating.

You're body doesn't process calories different after dark. If you are always sedentary after you eat then there is no difference.
