I'm with Sprint and wanted to know if you could block there number and have the answering machine pick up when they call?

You might check with Sprint and see if they have a feature like that. You may have to pay to use it, though.

What I have done with any numbers I don't want to answer from is create a phone book entry with the number or numbers with a name like "blocked", "ex-husband", "@#$%&" etc. I then assign a silent ringtone I downloaded to that phonebook entry. This way, even if I have the ringer on, a call from that number will not bother me. This works great when you want to keep a record of how many times someone at the number has tried to call, even if they don't leave a message (like when harassment is involved).
