I am switching from Earthlink Accelerated to Alltel DSL. Will I still be able to open and access my Earthlink mailbox even though I will be canceling service with them?

When I switched a time or two, the ISP gave me 30 days or so to tidy things up. In other words I could still get email on both ISP's, but you really should contact your soon to be X-ISP and determine how liberal they are with their free ISP time. Makes sense to me. In the meantime, be sure to send a message to all of your regular email contacts regarding your change. It will also be a good time to eliminate as many of them as you want to at this time! Neat!

You'll loose you mail box address. I was never a big fan of Web site mailboxes (IE. Hot mail, Yahoo etc..) But by using them I realize it doesn't matter what ISP you use. Your email stays the same. I like yahoo. It has Calender etc.. reminds me of Outlook. Of course I have not change to yahoo yet.

no you will lose your mail box make sure you let eveyone know in your contacts. For home email I would suggest getting a webbased email like yahoo or hotmail. This way you won't lose your email account when you move or switch ISP's.

Most likely not. Once you delete your account with them, your mailbox is also deleted. About a week before you switch, email your contacts informing them of your new email address and the effective date when you start using it.
