Ok, my eyes started out blue(obviously), then turned to gray when I was about 2, and then it wasn't until I was 5 until they turned to the color they are now, green. Many people say that I'm an unusual example of when your eyes are supposed to change permanently. I want to know this because my 3 year old nephew has the deepest blue eyes on this earth, but his mom and dad both have so dark of brown they're almost black. I was wondering what the normal age of is when your eyes change so I can hope his don't.(everybody in my family have brown. And I love his eyes!)

Children's eyes can change as late as five or six. My daughter's eyes were blue and turned hazel at age five. I had always been told that they change before they turned three if they were going to, but hers did not change until two years later. It is possible his eyes will stay blue. My son, now age six still has his gorgeous baby blues.

My daughter's eyes turned from blue to brown in about the same time frame as yours. She has an uncle that was 7 or 8 when his eyes changed colors, one before the other so he had 2 different color eyes for a while.

Both my sons were born with the dark blue eyes. Both of them now have dark brown eyes-the colour changed when they were about 4 months old.

most people start out with lighter colored eyes as babies because the pigment melanin (at least thats what i think it's called.. it determines the color of your hair, skin and eyes) hasn't fully developed in that area.. as you grow older, more melanin is distributed into your eyes, and they become a darker color.

it's the same for hair.. that's why blonde babies and children, as they get older, develop a more brownish hair color.
