Vampires are real on many different levels.
When you talk about vampires, most people think of blood suckers. There most certainly are blood vampires.
I've only ever drank my own blood; sucking on a wound, or laying on my back with a bloody nose. Nose blood; not the greatest, but I wasn't totally grossed out. Wound blood; not so bad. So even as a complete non-vampire, I can't claim that I regard human blood as a completely disgusting thing to drink.
As for the vampires I've met, drinking blood is an amazing and wonderful thing. It's all about that life force energy, and blood carries that energy. They say that just reaching out and draining someone of their energy is the greatest high, but drinking blood adds a thrill of sensuality. Feeling as it enters their mouth, still warm. Swallowing, physically taking the life-force inside of them. Tasting someone from the inside. They talk about it as a real thrill. Amazingly sensual.
Also, AB negative blood is supposedly the tastiest. It's a little sweeter than most blood. They say that an AB negative diabetic is like a candy apple.
Many people drain those around them of life force energy, but there are some who can do it purposefully. They have the ability to reach out and drain a person's energy, and some are better at it then others. Some can contact you from far away in the vision realm after having looked you in the eyes and made a karmic connection, and take your energy. But the best is when they can just reach out and take it, draining a person until they fall on the floor. They say it's far better than caffeine. These are the energy vampires.
I have a good friend who can do that. She's the only energy vampire I know who uses her power for good. She takes people's headaches. She also has an amazing ability to sense energies, making her one of the most powerful witches I know (I know a lot of witches who claim to be powerful, but very few who actually are). I have known her for many years and we are very close friends.
One time it was the dead of winter, she was sitting next to a window, and she felt someone looking at her. She looked and there was someone dressed in black with no color in their body sitting across the road, intently looking at her. She looked down for no more than five seconds, looked up again, and he was sitting on her side of the road, still intently looking at her. He was not dressed for the cold, but was not shivering at all. She looked down again, and looked up and he was sitting 10 feet from the window. Just intense calm looking at her. She immediately closed the blinds realizing that she had just had an encounter with a real vampire, although she recognized him as a kindred spirit. Had she left the blinds open, there is no telling what could have happened to her.
It probably wasn't a vampire like Dracula or what we see from Hollywood, but it was definitely something from outside of our mundane existence. So there might be another kind of vampire out there also. The vampires of myth and legend might be roaming the earth after all

There are several types of vampires. Some come from legend or folklore and others are what we call 'emotional' vampires.
The ones that come from myth originated from individuals in history that literally drank the blood of their victims. They did it for reasons such as gaining that person's soul and having eternal life. Those really did exist, but they didnt live forever as the way hollywood portrays. They come from folklore.
Emotional vampires are a term that came from very narcissistic individuals that drain the energy from their victims. They so overwhelm their victims with their demands that the victim is left powerless.
I have been around emotional vampires. It truly is something you dont want to experience. You are left exhausted beyond reason. You must beware of these people, they are toxic. Those are the real vampires.

No, the vampires of horror movies do not exist. Vampire bats are real, some people do suffer a very rare blood disorder that exhibits the traits associated with vampires, and some people do drink blood as part of a ritual or to embrace a lifestyle, but the undead that require a stake through the heart to save humanity are pure myth.

There are several types of vampire bats, but the movie type does not exist. The movie character Dracula has some basis in history. In 1431 an individual named Vlad Dracula was prince of Walachia present day Romania in the town of Transylvania. He was killed some years later. His son Dracul meaning 'devil'
killed tens of thousands of people to satisfy his twisted desires. Most of them were impaled, a very unpleasant way to die.
So the movie Dracula was molded and changed into what we now see in the movies..

Very real. Hollywood did get it wrong. they do have reflections, can go out in the day light, and don't turn into bats. They're all over, from doctors to lawyers to teacher to bus drivers. you name an occupation and a vampire is doing it. your next door neighbor, or even you brother or sister maybe one.

No. It was started by a baron or duke (can't recall which) in transylvania that had a habit of drinking human blood, and after years and years it has evolved to vampires sucking blood from humans with razor sharp teeth. No worries. It could be cool tho!

There are people who do drink blood, so in a way yes. Although the way the movies project it is not at all accurate. There's a really good CSI episode (season 5 or 4) that goes on about this in more detail.

Very real. Some of them have blood cravings, but I have not met any of those kinds. One of my closest friends is a vampire, in that he colects energy from other people.
