There are many schools of thought that beleive the life we are "living" is a false reality.

One of my favorites comes from Timothy Leary. After someone is "dead" there is a certian ammount of brain activity that still takes place, i think it is something like either 4 seconds or 4 minutes (i'm pretty sure there's a 4 in there), but think about when you have a dream. Have you ever dozed off, had a dream that seems to take hours, maybe days, and then woken up only to find that only a couple of minutes has passed? I have. The idea behind Leary's concept is that since there is brain activity that occurs after "death", and the concept of time is nonexistent when it comes to the human brain, we may all have "died" and we are just "living" out the last few second (or minutes) of our brain activity.

I don't know how much I can believe this theory, but it can't be disproved, and its something that really gets me thinking. And for that, i felt it was worth sharing. maybe get some of you exercising that big ol' muscle that rests between your ears. After all, there may only be seconds left. :)

This question reminds me of The Matrix. Yes. It is possible that it is all a dream. I bet we are all in pods somewhere being used as batteries for the Robot species that took over after we destroyed the sun. Our life as we know it is some kind of virtual reality.

The red pill or the blue pill? Ignorance is bliss.

no, life as we know it is not a dream. Life is reality. When you sleep you dream from your unconscience things that you might want to do in reality in life but cant or wont do. Life is a long hard path that we all have to go down along and make the best of it.

Not a dream at all. More, like a nightmare.

I have a theory that life as we know it IS hell. It at least seems that way sometimes!
