Grading your own card is keeping the edges in good shape this effect what they are worth.
Put in a safe place fire and moisture free [ small safe ] and each card seal of course if your a card collector you already know about Beckett so i will stay away from that.
*Condition*
Hold them through time don't get in a hurry and ever now and than put the price on one for bid on EBay now people never want to pay full price so you over price 25% let them [ hackle ] makes them fill good thinking they got you to come off the price and they will buy with a smile:~)
Remember this card may be worth something in the Beckett book but on the street it not the same way unless someone is looking for one to complete their set...
Than you sell & only than the card will always be in safe keeping so play the game.
Than you can be the winner not them

Go to a card store and pick up a Beckett's guide. That guide will tell you all the materials that you will need to take care and grade your cards.

I would suggest you log onto the Beckett web site and review their section on graded cards. PSA DNA also is a good reference point to start analyzing the condition of your card and whether you should spend the money to have it graded.
By the way, many factors come into the grading of the card from card edges, to card centering, to finish, etc.

Beckett is a great source but of course you want it as near mint as you can get them. The big issue on pricing of a card is talking to a person that really wants it that will really determine how much you will get for it.

I would have a magnifying glass (or maybe even a dissecting microscope for close examination), a clean flat table or desk, latex gloves for serious handling, a bright lamp, and a guide describing conditions of the card as well as any types of errors or imperfections.

it a b.had them since i was a kid and don't even let my own kids play with them .most are pretty old 40 or 50 years
