When I was in Paris, a couple of years ago, I went to the top of the Eiffel Tower. If you are in Paris the Eiffel Tower is impossible to miss, and I had seen hundreds of pictures of the tower, in art work and photographs, my entire life. I found it extremely interesting, that the tower was built in 1888 for the worlds fair, and Parisians fell so much in love with it, that they decided to keep it up for a bit longer, after the 1888 Worlds Fair had ended, and 118 years later, it is still standing. It was built originally as a antenna, for a new invention being previewed at the fair, called radio, Know one ever thought this new invention would ever catch on. When the tower was built, it was by far, the tallest man made structure on our planet. The tower makes me think of romance and the beautiful overcast tone, of the sky in Paris. Today the tower is more or less a tourist attraction, like the Empire State Building in New York, and the London Bridge in London, but I will never forget taking the train from Rome to Paris, and arriving in the city in the middle of the night, and seeing the Eiffel Tower all lit up, like it was wearing a string of pearls, that glowed in the moonlight. This is one image I will never ever forget.
