Without conscious perception of the world there is no meaning, no purpose.
It is like anything we created, does not have any purpose if we do not have interest in it. See, lets say, computer, without presence of consciousness which make it work or useful it is useless and if you do not have any idea what that funny box is , then it is senseless ...well if you unaware what even "box" is, then it would be terrifying...we always fear that which we do not know.So we are consciously perceive the world, but hardly can make it really work, for the reason of ignorance.Perhaps the purpose would be not to be ignorant about it? But it is long way to get it as it come to realization.
