You are a women so remember that your body will do women things. You might gain weight and if you get pregnant you will stretch in places. around the belly button is a big no no unless you want to have a hideous black blob on your stomach after it is stretched. I have 2 tatoos, One on my lower back of a butterfly and a chinese symbol on the back of my neck. I did them both when I was young and I hate every bit of both of them. Not only do they look trashy and draw negative attention but they hurt really bad getting them. If you are smart enough to be thinking about it and asking the question be smart enough to sit down and think about being a wife and mother. What your children will see and ask about. What others will see on your body. Remember that it is a symbol that will be there forever and most men look at it as a symbol of unstability and easiness. Is that what you want?

Well for my 18th birthday I got my first tatoo on my ankle. If you do a search for tatoos you will see lots of graphics and ideas where to put one.

well, remember when you're looking at what you might get, that a tattoo is pretty much forever, so in 40 years you'd better still like it. i know way too many people that liked flowers when they were 16, but absolutly hate them now that their 35, and totaly regret getting a flower tattoo.
do you like animals? maybe a bird or a butterfly?
check out this site, dont pay attention to the first couple things you see, wait until the whole page loads, and then scroll to the bottom and click around on all the pages, theres like 114 pages of different tatoos.

remember to scroll to the bottom of the page.

Don't! The number 1 mistake of tatooing is wanting a tatoo without knowing what to express. People change with time and you will too. Don't make it something you might hate someday.

If your sure about that tattoo, I would suggest something that is significant to you. Maybe a quick lyric to a song, a favorite flower, etc. I dont understand the whole, put it somewhere where no one will see it. Isnt that part of the point of tattoos? I mean it's not like your gonna put it on your forehead and expect to land a job at a bank...lol....or say hey daddy I got a tattoo and he wants to see it, but its on your butt! At least get it where it's sort of discreet but you can still be able to show it off I guess. Like the side of your pelvic area, ankle, behind the neck. Here, try this website:

Good Luck....

I think this is as appropriate a place as any to post your tattoo question.
If you don't know what you want to have tattooed on you, then get nothing. With something as personal and lasting as a tattoo, you should know EXACTLY what you want and where you want it and how much you want to spend. If you're going to use your body as a canvas, give it the courtesy it deserves and make your decision after much contemplation and deliberation.
Please, do not allow yourself to succumb to peer pressure or any kind of pressure for that matter (i.e., that you HAVE to have a tattoo on your 18th birthday).
If you're undecided, wait til you're 19, or 20, or 30.

when getting a tattoo, think about it long and hard. your gonna have it all your life unless you get it removed. which if you do, its said to be a hundred times more painful. thats the first thing along with making sure it has some kind of meaning to you. not, "well, i like this bands music alot and stars." make sure it is something that has meaning and that you can see yourself with it for the rest of your life. keep in mind that it doesn't hold that fresh look for life. it fades within the first month a lot of times and sunlight increases that. don't get names either unless it is the name of somebody dear to you who passed away. your mother, father, brother, sister died, then go for it. im all for tattoos. you just don't want something youll regret. tattoo removal is also extremely expensive. furthermore where you get it can have an affect on birth. if you get a tattoo on your lower back in a certain area you can't get the happy shot that makes you feel no pain.
and, concerning where you go to get it. you have to go largely by reputation.

A tatoo is a form of self expression. Dont get one because it's the "in" thing to do, or because a friend did, or any other shallow reason.
If you decide to get one, get something with meaning to YOU, in a place you can cover with a business suit. You wont always be 18 and carefree.

...for some one tattoo is a start. Every parlor has tons of designs to give you ideas. Check out what others are wearing. Depending on you skin color all ink will not appear the same. Your first need only be visible to you. There are magazines that show you the full extent of the art; check around college campuses.

You want to get a tatoo?
Get it in the middle of your forehead, a great big target would be nice.
People who get tatoos often end up with serious infections.
And, in later years wish they didn't have a tatoo.
Spend the money on new clothes.
