I have never seen anything like this.
Repubs hated Clinton though he left the country in better shape than he found it. Our current dweller will leave this country divided like at no other time I have seen lately, and in much worse condition than he found it.
LBJ left the country politically in a mess as did Nixon. Both of them dealt with Vietnam one way or another. Of course Nixon ran to get us out of Vietnam but it took him 6 years and Kent State to do it, plus his impeachment!
A lot of people hated Nixon and if it weren't for Bush, he might have been the worst president in history!
I have never seen anything like this and there are very few organized anti-war protests! I think some of that has to do with the military. I have seen more vigils than protests.
The ballot boxes will be ringing for the mid-term election and 2008. And the Republicans may think a few good weeks will do it for them! Body bags have been coming home for 3 years, and we aren't even at war. I suspect they will still be coming home when Bush leaves, and the country economically is in a nightmare! He isn't going to fix that by giving money to the Rich!

I don't think we were this divided but it all began with Ronald Reagan. He was the worst president until now. His Reaganomics's was just the good ol' boys way of feeding the rich and letting the poor and middle class slide backwards. Some people actually liked a president that suffered from Alzheimer's and his wife run the country with the aid of psychics.

Oh definetely. The Vietnam war in the 1960's was a time of incredibe social upheaveal and protest. When Nixon resigned due to the Watergate scandal, America had reached its low point, people thought the goverment would never recover.

Try the Johnson years as in Viet Nam
The Nixon years oooo pick a topic...Kent State, Watergate
The Carter years...the economy and Iran taking US hostages
George Bush number 1.... lack of follow through
Note a pattern.... with the exception of part of Reagans first term - both parties have a history of disappointing someone
