If you've written it in HTML then you can upload it one piece at a time with Yahoo! geocities.
Other ISPs may use ftp upload programs.

Assuming you have the page designed, you have to pick someone to host the web page. You can use a free service like geocities or tripod, or go with a paid service where you get your own domain name.
Then you simply copy the html pages you created up to that web site. Also any pictures the page needs to display Most web host will provide you with software for doing this. Or you can do it using Internet Explorer by going to the web site, entering your ID and password so you have permission to copy to get, and simply dragging and dropping the files on the site.

web host
basically you design the site offline with frontpage or whatever html editor you are using, then you get a web host. There are some simple webhosts that you simply upload your files to their server, and then your site can be viewed by the www.

You need to use the File Transfer Protocol (FTP). The one I like most is WS_FTP. you can get trail versions at Download.com. This will allow you to transfer one or more files from your computer to to another (ie. Web Server). Once the program is installed on your computer. Just browse the files, pics etc.. that's on our web pages to be uploaded to FTP. You'll have to direct the ftp program on where send the data/files. WS_FTP is easy to use and will tell/show you how to do everyting. Plus it's a secure way to transfer files since FTP uses TCP to move files

You can use a hosted service (such as Yahoo or another hosting service) or run a web server directly from your computer, though this usually isn't a very good idea because of security issues.

You must have a hosting agent.
You can host yourself... or sometimes your ISP provides an area... or you can go to BLUEHOST.COM or VIRTUALEMPIRE.COM or one of the hosters.
FTP the code to the server...
and set up domain pointers in required.
