You don't know what the f*ck you're talking about.
I work for a refinery. They don't set the price of oil. But they do benefit from it! Our refinery made record profits last year. They were obviously making enough to sell in record-setting amounts.
When you hear our VP talk, he's says that yes, the price of gas is high, but we should be happy about that!
Now, did my raise or any of my co-workers raises reflect this profit? Nope. But that rant is to be saved for another question.

This is a difficult question. Democrats don't like refineries becuase they are very hazardous to the enviroment and put out toxic chemicals (witch cause birth defects, sickness, environmental problems). But america does need more refineries. I happen to be a democrat, and in my opinion, America needs more refineries ( **** the green party). Close down refineries in populated places (like that damn one in richmond, CA). Build refineries out in the desert and bar building in 20 mile radius.

i drive a hybrid. so I'll take the shot on this one.. as an environweenie, greenie , whatever else you call it.
I personally don't complain about gas prices. I adapt. I think most of the people that you would label as "environweenies" are fairly similiar. They make the most out of the resources that are available without trying to deplete them at the fastest rate possible in the name of a short term " discount."
The major problem... contemplate ..

We don't need new refineries...
Ride a bike...WALK!
Repuglicons need to get off
their fat backsides and EXERCISE
Our OBESITY rate is rising everyday...
Get out of the car/truck and WALK!
I hope gas prices goes to $5 by the
end of summer and $10 durning the winter.
Guess some Repuglicons will just have
to trade in their Hummers & Suv's, eh!

If we would let scientists find an alternative fuel, we could get
away from this dependence.
More refineries isn't the answer, we need another source of fuel.

Hey dude, have you checked the price of oil lately, over 70 a barrel. Do you know why, no one does but the oil company's are recording record profits. They was on meet the press and said it wasn't their fault, I wonder who's fault it is. There is plenty of oil, and there is plenty of gas. I have not seen one station with a sign on it that says out of gas.

If we had new or more refineries, maybe we could get our butts out of Iraq and all of the middle east!

Yes and we should be drilling in Alaske too. The animals adjusted to the pipe line, they will adjust to a couple of well heads too. Darn tree huggers. Bet every one of them is driving a 8 mpg SUV too.

no, the problem is the number of people that drive private vehicles. Gas isn't that expensive. Milk costs more per gallon.
