JK Rowling read the Chronicles of Narnia as a child for starters.

As for similarities - the children are in groups, Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, two brothers and two sisters fight together. In Harry Potter three friends fight together.

In LWW, the evil is the strongest witch ever and calls herself "Queen". In HP, the evil is the strongest wizard ever and calls himself "Lord".
Both have others under their spell and working for them. Both have influenced the world around them - The Queen has the land in snow and ice "always winter" and in HP as Voldamort gains in power, the days get darker and darker.

Both books feature talking magical creatures that are on both sides, good and evil. In both books the children are taught by others around them and gain in skill as they gain in knowledge.

Both books have a "prophecy". In LWW, the prophecy speaks of "two sons of adam and two daughters of eve" to overcome the Witch.
In HP the "prophecy" speaks of "one who is marked" to overcome the evil of Voldemort.

There might be more but thats right off the top of my head. Its been a few years since I read LWW.

in both books, the reader is taken into a world that does not actually exist. both books have a sense of magic. in both books and ultimate sacrifice was made for the good of all (through lily potter and the lion). harry is considered a hero for destroying Volemort and the sons of adam and the daughters of eve are considered the hero for ending the reign of the white witch... that's about all that i have got

There really isn't any similarities between the two other than both contain some form of magic and a quest of some sort. In both stories, there is a small group with a mission on their shoulders and befriend others that are not like them. Watch the movies.

Harry is an orphan, and the children in LWW are in effect orphans (they have been sent away from London and their family for safety during the war)
