1. Get yourself a Bible and read John (look it up in the table of contents). NIV is a translation that is easy to read.
2. Check out the book, "More than a Carpenter" by Josh McDowell. It is an easy read and gives you a lot of insight about who Jesus is.

I did the church thing time and time over and read the bible front to back. Pretty good storybook I guess. I think people that believe there is a s being that is above all, are weak minded and need someone to look up because they are too weak to guide themselves. Maybe scared that there is no after life. Yes there very well maybe an afterlife but that don't mean someone made it. It upsets me at times watching how rich people get from scaring people. If they don't give a man money they will go to a bad place after death. It will be known as the biggest scam / witch hunt. How do they know this bible is true? OH, because it is the bible and it always says so if you cut the right lines out. You can make that book say anything you want it to. Well, there are other books that say something else. And why do god's people go around killing people? I myself believe there was a fish and one day it had legs and so on. But I have no plans to kill anyone because they don't believe the same way I do. I don't want anything to die. Bugs want to live just as much as the rest of us do. You will never make me believe it is any thing more than a book written by a king trying to take control of his kingdom or to get the people to give all their riches to him to build a kingdom of god for him to rule.
Sorry guys but I am a non believer.

This is something that would be best for you to search for the answers yourself because on here you will get a lot of misguided opinions. Something obviously is drawling you in to have the desire to "Wonder" is there a God?
Deep down inside your heart is telling you the answer and if you seek for answers and dig deep for the truth, you will find it. Try a prayer to ask God to reveal himself to you by giving you some kind of simple sign. If you can get your hands on a bible, take a look through it. Study it and ask yourself if you can relate to some of the examples it talks about and if it sounds like common sense to you.
I'm not going to quote scripture to you. You can find the same access to the bible on the internet. Look through searches. Hope this helps.

I shall give you a simple exercise to find the god!
Sit comfortably in a chair. Close your eyes gently. Bend down your head slightly.Start breathing!Take deep long breathings, atleast five times. Watch only the breathing. Continue breathing, shallow usual breathing...watch it..eyes closed..See a spot of light on your forehead..bright spot of light glowing...You are alone now..you have your body... mind.. and the soul... and.. nothing else in the universe...you are nearer to..god ..now..I will tell you if you practise this for a few minutes ... 2 or 3 times daily...I assure you..you will feel god... see ... god.. in a few days time!

I look at it this way. Look at the world around you. You can speculate that certain natural occurrences and unique circumstances created life and planets, but where did the elements come from that created those natural, wonderful events. Time and space, are almost irrelevant.
I can not conceive that God does not exist. Most religions believe in a higher source, a power that exists beyond our full understanding. If you can look inside yourself, you can almost feel Gods presence because we have life, and gives me shivers. Yes, I am a Christian, and in my foul-able existence I do my best to follow my convictions and choose this as my path that feels right. Who knows exactly what proper way to accept God is, especially on faith, but to follow your convictions and what you truly believe to be the right thing.
I believe God is our faith and he is very real in all of us if we accept his existence.

Yes, God is real. Many disagree with me and will say no, but he is real. God is our maker. He is the one who gave us life, watches over us, and is there for you 24-7. He is a bundle of love and forgivness, but also strong and the one who we have to answer to after we die.

to me, god is not someones son or being that watches over us. god is many different elements all working together to start and maintain life within the entire universe not just our galaxy or planet or lives, but ultimately it is whatever you wan tit to be, something that can give you some kind of hope in this hopeless world and if you want to believe that god is a son or being or frog in a flower then by all means you can

that is a personal question, you have to decide with in yourself. I grew up catholic and now I follow my own belief system, I have also done research on many different religions, I even read parts of the qur'an. so in the end you have to look in to your heart and decide what you feel is right, and let anyone else tell you that what they believe is right. follow your heart and your mind.
Here's a qoute I heard the other day: " Holiness is in right action and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves and goodness. What god desires is in the heart and mind, and what you decide to do everyday."

Nobody who tells you the truth can tell you who god is or prove to you that god is real.

God is love, and watches over each and every human being on Earth to make sure he or she has a happy, successful life. Unfortunately, God's Earth shattering powers of supreme might are easily thwarted by people not believing in Him, so He cannot make some people happy. He is best known for creating the universe, forgiving our sins, and deciding who wins the Super Bowl.
God has been known to use his Earth shattering powers of supreme might in the past, in huge demonstrations of how much He loves each and every person. Some examples are documented carefully in the Bible. Examples include: Flooding the world, burning cities to the ground, and causing plagues, famine, and swarms of locusts to attack people.
In one of the earliest documented cases of Multiple Personality Disorder, God, although one single entity, is actually three different things at the same time. God is composed of The Father, The Holy Spirit, and The Son- or Jesus-. God was not always composed of Jesus however, He just decided one day to include Him on a whim.
God likes people to worship and sing to Him. The best way to worship God is to pray for stuff you want. Asking for a new car, a new house, or for your ex-boyfriend to die are completely acceptable things to pray for. God hears all prayers and does His best to fulfill all of them; a bit like Santa at christmas, just all year around, every day all day.
Because God is pure love, anybody, even good people, who don't believe in Him are forced into eternal suffering in Hell. However, evil selfish people can believe in God and get into Heaven because God loves them. God loves everybody equally, He even loves the people He has condemned to burn forever.
For more in-depth discussion of this subject, consult the Bible, which is the definitive authority on all things religious, as it was written by God Himself and directly given to us mere humans to treasure forever. Every word of it is literally true, without exception. He even translated the Bible for everybody in later years.
Note carefully that no human can ever know God's will. Except the Pope, because he has a mind-bogglingly cool hat. And a stick.
