If so, why after all these years have we not returned? We are so much more advanced today than 30+ years ago. You'd think that after all these years we'd be mining the moon, or have a space station as a leaper to Mars. I, for one, don't think that we ever made it there. I believe it was all staged propaganda for the Russians to swallow.

I can't believe that people are still saying this. *Yes* we went to the moon. You can actually see a couple of the landing sites on the moon's surface with some of the larger telescopes. If we had not, don't you think it would have come to light by now? Enough people have looked at this issue over the years. As for why we aren't really advanced in space: ever see the movie Apollo 13? The American people just lost interest. It became "routine" and boring. Without public support, budgets were slashed and NASA went on to become the underfunded entity it is today. In regards to mining, mine what? To do what with? There is nothing on the moon that we don't already have here in greater quantity, at least that we have discovered so far. It's that possibility that there *might* be something that I say we should get out there and explore some more! In the words of JFK, "We do this because it is hard!"

Each mission to the moon cost over a half of a billion dollars in today's time. Why waste the money when we can see under the surface with satellites. The moon has been determine to have similar properties to earth except its dead. Instead the attention is turned to Mars year their is ice which can sustain human life. The moon is empty and a supply line must be kept and if it faltered, then the miners on the moon die. Besides, what is one the moon is in vast supply on earth. Such as iorn

One thing is we put several people on the moon. We haven't returned because since we have been to the moon we can use the technology we have to work for other purposes in space. Like star wars technology, which is here, and health technology.

The space stations are a reminder that we started with baby steps and now we are in space almost as workers.

I seen and read much on this theory. I came to
the conclusion we did in fact go there. Okay let me just give you one simple fact why. The conspiracy that would have happened would have to have the cooperation of of no less the 15,000 PEOPLE...and no one is talking..impossible. Someone would have wrote a book...there would be someone who would come forward a say: The whole damn thing was a fraud!!!!

nah, we made it, they have a telescope now that can see the flag we planted, check it out
it is extraordinarily complicated to get up there, you know this, we're not back because we dont want to waste the money, the amount of manpower and money that went into the space program was tremendous and we've chosen to allocate that to more earthly concerns (like public education, hopefully)
we'll be back though dude, dont worry, we'd probably be back up there tomorrow if you could convince someone there was oil up there

Look at the picture of the first moon landing. The American flag is waving. How could it wave, there is no wind on the moon?

Even though many think it was staged, many experts believe that we did land according to many evidences.

We haven't gone recently obviously because of increasing costs and there is no more "space race" between US and USSR.
