From my understanding this just seems pretty pointless.... why delete someone? all this does is remove them from the list they can still see your status and IM you. Of course I will not be messaging this person until I find out why they would delete me...... I was just wondering and this person would definitely know how to block someone since they are a computer programmer...... Just wondering..... Thanks for your help!

if you delete someone from your contact list you won't be able to see if they're on line or not -- you won't have them listed at all and so you can't message the people you delete (unless they message you) -- perhaps this person was too conscious of your comings and goings and wanted to change the focus

some reasons to ponder...
- once in a while you find the user name you have no idea who it is
- too many users
- to get rid of a problem, it is best just to delete it
- when you delete a user, you can't check the on/off status
- even if they dlete you, they can still receive ims from you
- if you know who they are, ask and you shall receive

ive had a similar situation unfortuently you cant delete them in case you're on their contact record...and the in reality way is to deliver them a message asking to be deleted from their contact record..in the adventure that they dont then you absolutely are stuck with them ..

maybe they have too many people on their list and wanted to clean it up a little so they deleted you to make it easier for them.

Probably cause they don't want to come off as a complete jerk. They wanted to let you down gently.
