Are you sinuses and/or allergies acting up? About 2 months ago, I felt really stuffy and my ears began to plug up. 2 days later, my left ear began to leak a bit of blood. The pressure in my sinuses had built up enough that it ruptured my eardrum to releave said pressure. My doctor gave me 1500 mg antibiotic to clean out my sinuses (which became a sinus infection). After about 3 weeks, my ears felt much better, and the pain was gone.

Since you don't mention any other symptoms, like noises in your ear (tinnitus) or spinning dizziness (vertigo), it's very likely that the sound is being blocked on its way through the ear. This can be due to earwax (cerumen) build-up (using cotton swabs can really pack it in there); an infection or fungus in the ear canal (a.k.a. swimmer's ear); negative pressure or fluid behind the eardrum from a head cold or allergies.
If it lasts more than a few days, start with your family/primary doctor, and see what they find. But if you have pain, fever, tinnitus or vertigo, see an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT/otolaryngologist) ASAP.

It sounds like you might have otitis media (ear infection). This is caused by a build up of fluid in you middle ear. Using a Q-tip won't help and could actually cause damage to your ear drum.
Ear infections in adults can be caused by sinuses. If that is the case, sinus medication may help.
If your hearing doesn't resolve in the next day or so, I would suggest going to see a doctor. There could be something more serious going on and you wouldn't want to risk permanent damage to your hearing.

I have a history of bad ears/ear infections..it could be an ear infection..but that depends if it hurts..if it doesnt hurt..its probably a big ball of wax or water/fluid in ur ear..do NOT i repeat do NOT put swabs in ur ear..like Q-tips...worst thing ever..trust me...do not put that crap in ur ear..give it a week and if it gets worse or no better, just give ur doctor a call or make an appointment or w/e..if it starts hurting..go to the doctor

Try putting peroxide in the ear and letting it bubble for a bit (5 minutes) then take a shower and let the water wash everything out.

Sounds like normal sinus drainage. Just take Claritin for a few days.
