that really depends on a few things:
1. age
2. current health status
3. metabolic rate and capability
4. activity level during your nomal daily life.
5. 2000 calories of what? are you eating from all the food groups or just eating meat all day every day all year- get the idea.

now is 2000 calories healthy. for the most part yes. the average healthy active 20 year old male will actually need about 2500 to 3000 calories per day. if that 20 year old is a NFL linebacker he may need 4000 calories or more. but the average person assuming you are that, could live adequately on a well balanced 2000 calorie diet. you certainly would not gain excessive weight and if you are now overweight you would probably lose a few pounds a month. a health diet means taking in about 20 -30 grams of fat every day, cut out about half the sugars in all the foods you eat, and lay off the twinkies, potatoe chips, and fast food burgers. remember this is all based on a 20 year old who is just leading a normal routine.

Yes.

You can always check your ideal calorie intake online by searching for calorie counters.

The amount of calories the body requires depends on gender, activity level, and age..but I would think 2000 is a good intake for a guy.

2,000 is pretty healthy for a guy. This is based on how much exercise you get each day. If you want an accurate count for your own body, then go to www.mypyramid.gov . That site teaches people about the new Food Pyramid.
