i mean my step dad thinks that my mom has to be the one that cooks and cleans. i hate it she does it and does not get mad. it is crazy.

Well, a lot of it is probably because of the times your step father and mother grew up in. Gender roles have been around for a long time, and people are accustomed to them. One could almost say the gender roles have been engrained. Also, one could look into human nature itself clear back to cavemen times. The males are instinctually the ones who protect and provide. Back then, the physical aspect of strength made it the males' jobs to take care of the women. It's just carried through the ages.

Some women come to except that in life they cook and the man brings home the money. My pop tried to do that but my mom is independent, and she taught me to have a mind of my own. Their divorced now, and when he comes to visit me he tries to tell my mom what to do. Well lets say that she doesn't stand for that, and neither do I. We fight a lot any way. Hes not right in the head. Well anyways back to your question. It makes some men feel like their Superior to the women. Kinda of like the old days. It might also have something to do with their ego, some men not all. Well that's it. Just don't get in to much trouble. Good Luck!

cooking and cleaning sounds like work to me ..
and I do a lot of cooking and think of it as work
although i tend to cook only when there are people around who want to eat ,in return for doing the dishes.
maids are the best for house cleaning work .
dont people have maids in America
every body does in the under develloped countries
and in South Africa
this some how sounds more develloped to me

Well sweetie I don't know? Old fashioned people I guess. But I am a man and I do everything I can to help my wife with all of the household chores. We both work long hours and we both try our best to keep everything looking nice around the house.

some guys are just like that, pisses me off cause the girls shouldnt get stuck with all the chores. it should be a shared process, along with raising any kids. Now jobs are a different thing lol, I wouldnt mind making enough for the two of us so she dont have to work, or if she wants to, in any area of her choosing.
