I'm realizing lately that I am too liberal for the democratic party. I'm very into politics, though, and want to be involved and back a party I agree with. Is there a party that is more liberal than the democrats?

Try the Green Party or Peace & Freedom Party.

There's certainly room for a wide spectrum of opinion and beliefs in the Democratic party. It's called the "big tent" approach: making the party more appealing to a broader base.

If you are really into politics and want to have an impact, I'd suggest that you try it from within rather than as an outsider. You can still support specific liberal groups and radical causes that you feel strongly about.

By the way, I'm more of a conservative. But I admire people who hold strong beliefs and who are willing to work hard to cause change.

It depends on what specific issues you mean. The biggest third parties in the US (like the Libertarian Party) don't really fit on the liberal vs conservative spectrum.

Yes there is. I'm the 2008 presidential candidate for the Straight-Talking American Government party (or the STAG party, for short).I hope I can count on your vote!
