Forever scares the sh*t out of me. Especially when it comes to relationships. How can you commit to a person forever? Contracts scare me. I never want to be locked into a job. I think space goes on forever, but I also think that's kind of impossible. It hurts my head to think about it too much. I think the spirit lives on forever too, or at least I like to hope so. Forever is scary, because the future is uncertain, and what we don't know, has the tendency to scare us.

Interesting question. I've thought about it before, and I feel that the alternative would be worse. What if there wasn't a forever?

If you promise to love someone forever and then something happens and you split up, then another person comes along, what happens if you promise to love them forever?

I guess you'll have to figure out how to love both of them (or however many you promised) ;-)

I do think that forever is a different thing than living - I think we become energy and have a different perspective on things than we do in our life on earth.

It will be so much different than what we know now - shielded from knowledge like we are.

Forever gives me hope. If I'm thinking about love, Forever is a promise that I'll be loving no one else more than I have loved that person or my love will lasts forever.

Forever sounds great if you think about living in Heaven once you die. It would be creepy to think that I'll be in hell forever *chills*.

If the spirit goes on forever, like what Reincarnation tells us, then there's really nothing to be scared about because you will not know what you will be in the next life. I don't care what my spirit did centuries ago, if it really had been used before, because this life I have is new and I still have a lifetime to be better.

Forever is never true. Everything has to end. Time might go on forever, but you'll die before you find out. When I hear the word forever, it's usually when someone is whinning about something, like in the sentence, "This lady has been in the bathroom forever."

Since life is, almost by definition, constant change, then having anything be the same forever would be the equivalent of death and maybe scary in that way. But does "forever" necessarily mean unchanging? Can something constantly change (or periodically change) and still be "forever"? Or if things change constantly (or periodically), then maybe "forever" is impossible...one cannot stand in the same river twice.

If you live your life One Day AT A Time and do your very best each 24 hours, forever will not be so overwhelming. Yes, I do believe that our spirit does go on forever.

i have thought about it too many times before, and gave up thinking : ) of course not, the word forever doesn't scare me, i can understand anything existing forever. but i have harder time perceiving something which has always or already "been".. Think about yourself and try to convince that "you are" and "you will be", this you will most probably accept relatively easier, becuse one wants to believe that one will never go extinct, this idea makes you happier. but think now, that "you were" always. see! you got to go back, but it takes you forever.. as for space it will end, becase it is doomed to an end, i mean "finish" but also "aim". and as for spirit of course it will go forever. because that's the way spirit is, it will because it is its will..

Humans cannot comprehend forever. It's impossible. We cannot understand the concept of time neverending for, despite some fear of death and some of life, it is strangely reassuring sometimes to know that it does eventually come to an end. It makes it seem all special and worthwhile. With this in mind, it is natural for anyone to be scared of forever. I mean...to take away the small sense of urgency and meaning in life...well...it makes things pointless.

I for one am not the least bit afraid to admit that forever DOES scare me greatly. Perhaps because my mind cannot comprehend it...perhaps because my mind does not want to try.

All in all, it is the natural response to be afraid of what we do not understand. Take death for instance. It's something that some people will try to wave off...but who can truly say that they do not fear death to some degree? A wiseman once said "he who loves life will naturally fear that which threatens to take it away."

Not scary at all.....the spirit and space are one. The mind has no limits. The world will one day come to an end, but the spirit is eternal

If you believe in forever,
Then life is just a one-night stand.
If there's a rock and roll heaven,
Well you know they've got a hell of a band...

Nothing in life is forever...Life is short enjoy every minute because you never know when it will be gone. Forever does not exist.. Spirit go on forever...hmmm.. good one. It has to go someplace. Yes, I think a spirit does travel but no-one will ever know the truth until it is their time.
