Kurt Cobain was the lead singer of a band called Nirvana. He was married to a woman named Courtney Love, and had a daughter named Francis Bean Cobain. His music is said to be some of the most influencial of our generation, and Nirvana led the pack during the popular early 90s grunge trend. He was a brilliant lyricist, and musician, and wrote a lot of great songs. Nirvana got really famous really fast after their album "nevermind" came out, with the single "Smells like teen spirit" and Kurt could never really handle all the fame. He was heavily into drugs, including heroin, and attempted suicide before he actually succeeded in April of 1994. His legacy is a daughter and a phenomenal band that is still relevant today.

Kurt Donald Cobain (February 20, 1967 – ca. April 5, 1994) was the lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist of the Seattle rock band Nirvana. He served not only as the band's frontman and principal songwriter, but also as its "leader and spiritual center". With the band's success, Cobain became a major national and international celebrity, an uncomfortable position for someone who claimed, "Famous is the last thing I wanted to be."

Cobain and Nirvana helped reshape popular music in the 1990s. In 1991, the arrival of Cobain's best known song, "Smells Like Teen Spirit", marked the beginning of a dramatic shift of popular music away from the dominant genres of the 1980s, glam metal, arena rock, and dance-pop, leading to the ascendance of grunge and alternative rock. The music media eventually awarded "Smells Like Teen Spirit" "anthem-of-a-generation" status , and, with it, Cobain ascended as the reluctant "spokesman" for Generation X.

Among other well-known Cobain songs are "About a Girl", "Come as You Are", "In Bloom", "Lithium", "Heart-Shaped Box", "All Apologies", and "Rape Me".

Cobain struggled to reconcile the massive success of Nirvana with his underground roots. He also felt persecuted by the media, comparing himself to Frances Farmer, and harbored resentment for people who claimed to be fans of the band but who completely missed the point of the band's message.

Kurt committed suicide with a self inflicted shogun shot to the head on April 5, 1994.

Kurt Cobain in my eyes was one of the best alternative singers in the whole wide world. He had many fans and seemed to make the whole teenage depression and rebellion not seem so hard to deal with. He helped me make it through my teenage days with his music there i did not feel so alone. try checking out some nirvana cd's especially nevermind and bleach those were two of my faves. It is said that he killed himself but my beleif among those of many others is that his wife courtney love killed him off for the insurance money cause when he was found dead he had to many drugs in his system to even hold a gun to his head. He did some pretty messed up things in his time with the drugs and crap and if he did kill himself i dont like the fact that he left his daughter behind but otherwise he helped a lot of people through a lot of hard times with his music cause he makes people know that other people are going through what we are going through especially the depression and everything else that comes our way as we go through life.

The lead singer of Nirvana. What great things he did? He started a rock n' roll revolution in the early 90's. He drank alot and did drugs, got depressed and hung himself in his home over his garage in April 8, 1994 in Seattle. Great Guy! Ok, Bye!

I disagree with 2 of the previous solutions.. That "music could never make you unhappy" ... music could make you sense a lot of diverse thoughts, unhappiness being one of them. And that Kurt replaced into spoiled, rich and had each thing going for him. this isn't real in any respect.. He replaced into always bullied in college and replaced into continuously said as gay because one of his reliable friends replaced into gay.. hence his quote "i began to develop into quite happy with the actual undeniable truth that i replaced into gay, even although I wasn't." also he replaced into homeless a lot in the previous he grew to develop into in demand. The evening after he recorded the hit "Smells Like youngster Spirit" (which may later develop into their first large hit) he slept in his automobile, he replaced into that undesirable... i think the very similar way, i'm dealing with a brilliant Kurt Cobain faze, i visit't end gazing documentaries about him and video clips of him on youtube, examining by diverse Nirvana lyrics, and that i also sense unhappy when I take heed to Nirvana.. yet i don't think of that's a foul element? i imagine it merely signifies that we are comfortable. that's a competent high quality!
