the show usually starts up around the same time. i know the auditions for Texas(where i'm from) start in August. which i find kind of weird because we audition in the summer but the show doesn't air till spring. hmmm...

It's predictable at times. I love the show and think it's very entertaining. The auditions can be painstaking, hard to take the criticism even though you're hearing the people sing -- literally...If you like good music, watch the last 8 episodes. If you like to see people fail or the judges make fun of people, watch the auditions and maybe the first couple competitive songs where the contestants sing.

I think the first two seasons were good, but now its not really so much about talent as it is about who's genetics are the best (if you catch my drift.) Although, I suppose that could fall under reasonable expectations for a show where the final decision is left to America. Have you seen some of the people we put on the news? It makes me lose faith in the whole race bit by painful bit.

Wow it sucks!...sure its funny to see people who think they can sing at auditions but after that its just a fake competition.If people want to be a musician then first they need to learn how to play an instrument and work to try to get signed, they shouldn't belt out a cheesy song for a british guy, a has-been, and some guy that used to play bass in a band......the whole concept gives me a headache.

it's getting kinda old. but for some reason i still seem to watch ever season it comes on. i dont know there just something about it.
and also i mean how many people have really been sucessful, mostly KELLY, but i dont think it's possible at this state for people actually to become an American idols, i mean it's great to win the contest and be the talk of it for about week but then make your album then about time the next season comes out everyone has just about forgotten about you and you just become another person trying to make it in the music industry.

I love the show....its one of my favorites. I was a little disappointed with this past season, though. Chris and Elliott should have gone much farther than the top two we ended up with. I'm starting to think it is at least partially rigged, but that's just my opinion.

I love the show, but find it irritating that I can NEVER get thru on those phone numbers! I know they do it to make money (and boy do they make it!) but I think voting should also be put on the web, as well- like the Dancing With the Stars show.

I don't think America does a good job voting. Either that or it's all rigged. The most deserving never win.
