That's an external drive, you are fighting a lost cause.

You will need two things you will need a driver for the drive enclosure(you will need to find out what chips it's using, eg NEC 2095B) and secondly you might need a generic mass storage driver for windows 98 (since Hitachi/LG didn't supply or produce a device specific Mass Storage driver for that OS) because it doesn't have one built in like windows 2000/ME/XP.

basically we are looking at near impossible. get windows 2000 or XP is you your computer isn't that old.

Taken from LG website/manual for 2164D. The link is for the manual.

Pentium 4 2.8GHz or Higher with IBM PC or Compatible.
512MB of RAM or greater.

Software Required
OS

Windows 2000 Professional(SP4)/XP(Home Edition/
Professional/SP2), Direct X 9.0 or Higher is required.

If you have the install disc you can try to browse for win98 drivers but it doesn't look like you will have much success. If you are running win98 you are also probably using an older system and the system requirements may be over your computer's ability.

Hope this helped some, good luck.
