The neo-cons are like Superman. They stand for truth, justice, and the American way.
Actually, I read an article that should surprise most Americans. While Americans actually saw the U.S. like the fictional hero Superman, and believed in our noble goals of protecting the defenseless, most foreigners saw the U.S. more like Batman: dark, brooding, sinister, not clearly on the side of the law...more like vigilante justice.
I still believe in what Ronald Reagan said. That America has a special purpose among the nations of the Earth to bring peace, freedom and democracy to everyone.
Sounds simplistic? Well, that's what the Germans said when Reagan demanded "Mr. Gorbachev. Tear down this wall!" Next thing you knew, the wall was tumbling down, and the Cold War was won.
Some things are simpler than we realize. We just make them hard.

Neo as in Nazi and con as in conservative. So the Neo-Nazi have taken over the far right wing of the Repuglican party. So they are concidered by many to be Neo-Conservatives, or Neo-Cons for short.
