I am a gsxr fan myself (from when I rode that style of bike) but...test both and go with what you like. Yammy and Suzuki both make good bikes.

Depends on personal preferrence. They are both new this year. R-6 is $9299.00 the gsxr-600 is $8799.00 both MSRP. I like them both, the 600 is little small for me, but they will move. You can get better insurance rates a lot of times with the gsxr-750. Check around.

Not tryin to be funny, but you never listed if you ever had experience... That will also be a factor... And I agree on the condition.. When you purchase something used, you take the risk that the previous owner/s have taken care of the bike before you... Yamaha and Suzuki are great companies I like them both, but in my opinion, when i think of a sportsbike or any motorcycle, my first thought is HAYABUSA!!! That name speaks for itself...

In my opinion last time I checked susuki wasn't as good in making small bike as they are in making the ones...So I would go with the R6 it has a shorter wheel base that allows for sharper turns and is the fastest 6oocc bike on the market....But that all depends on which year you get...Try for a late model one.

If your a new rider dont listen to the idiots that tell you to go over 750cc they have no idea what they are talking about. but then again their idea of fun is dying. so in my opinion I would stay away from the Yamaha. go with the Gixr it's a fun little bike runs great and will keep up with my Sv650.

test ride both...depending on how long you've been riding i'd also suggest the offering from honda ('06 cbr600rr). I've taken a mates for a spin and it's a knife and really well set up and forgiving...not quite as aggresive as either bikes you've listed.

both bikes are great so whatever feels right to your riding style...
