It's cool if you have lots a friends, because they leave you messages and comments. This means, you get to keep checking your profile to see what they wrote you...
If you have just a few friends, it's not worth it...

I created a myspace page a couple months ago and at first I wasn't all that impressed but then an old friend from high school found me and we have reconnected all because of myspace. I'm very happy to have this person back in my life. So I really like myspace now.

It is absolutely absurd to put a picture and an autobiography of yourself on the Internet for all to see. Especially when it asks for your home town and people are stupid enough to put there last names down. Boycott myspace.

Only make one if you have friends you know in real life. Don't go and meet new "friends" online. That can get you in too much trouble. Make your profile private, and don't give away your location, or name. Don't put a real picture of you as your default either.
Do that, and your safe. :)

It's alright if you want everyone to know everything about you, or you have some ego trip about having 4953 friends! 4900 whom you've never met.
