its because they are such low scoring games and last so long and u don't see many shots or interesting things, the only exception to that is baseball but you see a pitch every minute or so

In Canada, hockey rules, and the whole world seems to love soccer. However, here in the USA, these are just not our games. Baseball, football, basketball, these are home grown American games. We luv 'em! We grow up playing these games. We all dream of NFL and MLB, especially.
You see, Americans don't hate these other sports, we just don't care. There is no time of the year that it's not baseball, football, or basketball season. Isn't that great.

Marketing. MLB, NFL, and NBA have great marketing. Soccer and hockey haven't been as much "in your face." Tons of kids in the US play soccer every summer, and even in high school or college, but the only soccer star who's recognizable to most Americans is Mia Hamm. Hockey? Wayne Gretzky. More faces, more marketing, more success.

I take it your american? Here in Canada, hockey and the World Cup get tremendous ratings. They don't suck, I guess that down there you guys are just more interested in Football and Baseball.

By the way, GO ENGLAND!!! WIN THE WORLD CUP!!!!

No.

They just haven't been cultivated in the US.

Soccer is just for cultural reason. It was once popular and was traded for Football (American).

Hockey hasn't become popular because not all areas of the US have an area where you can ice skate.

There are more reasons, but those are my guesses.

because no one knows how to watch them. people complain about soccer being slow (although, what does that make baseball?) and hockey is faster than your other sports, with the exception of NASCAR, perhaps.

Marketing plays a role, too.
