I have a choice: either go to the beach(east coast) at night and fish of off a pier, or go to the lake, at night, and fish for catfish with a boat. If I chose the lake, the way I fish for catfish is to take a fun noodle cut it in about 1 ft segments, tie a string to it, tie the string to the hook, and bait it with cut-up shad. If I went to the beach, I would just sit and wait. I like speed, so I'm inclined for the lake, but I've never fished in the ocean before. The lake is closer, but the fishing trip would cover the whole night, no matter what. What do ya'll think? I need a fairly quick response, do to the arising time period for the trip. Thanks!

Just try a lake! There are normally great fish in there to catch.

Fish at the lake. I have a condo in Margate New Jersey and you need to know the tide table of low and high tide. Each location has a different time. Water temp play a big part also.I fish for fluke all the time and on most days I just feel like I was on a boat ride.

I think fishing by the beach would be so nice. You can fish all night and if you don't catch a thing you can still watch the sunrise at the pier. It'll be worth it.

Go to the ocean and have a new experience. Who knows, maybe the ocean will be faster after all.
