Not at the moment, the big teams have a fluidity and confidence about them that england do not have. They must build the team around rooney and gerard, give them space to create and england will reap the rewards.

some of the replies here, i wonder whether anyone watches the game.
None of the big teams fear the other, this notion is complete nonsense. It is innevitable that the big teams will face eachother at some point as that is the nature of an eliminating competition such as this. Also the replies as to who will beat who easily is pure speculation...
For example the last Brazil - England game was by no means an easy win for brazil, take away the goals and the game was even, unlike the Argentina - England game where Argentina was superior for most of the match and LOST.
Also England recently played Argentina in Geneva (Friendly apparently but believe me there is no such thing between these two.) And again England beat them, but because Argentina beat Serbia (who r a good team but to say they are one of the best is a joke) everyone automaticaly assumes Argentina will beat all. Spain beat the Ukraine 4-0 last week yet were losing to tunisia for 70minutes before tunisia made some stupid mistakes to lose the game tonight.
Basically, chill out and dont ridicule, i guarantee England will give anyone a good game including Brazil.

Why do England have to improve? they have played 2 and won 2, more than other supposedly better sides have managed to do.A lot of teams have already publicly said they fear England Brasil,Germany,Argentina and Italy for example, all say the same thing, that England has a great defence and key players in Rooney,Beckham,Gerrard and Lampard who have a wealth of experience as well as talent .
Ecuador don`t stand a chance (imo) against England (if thats what happens), but its the WC and strange things happen !.

Lets see the Germany v Ecuador game tomorrow... we will judge how well they play against Germany and if they loose against Germany, England will play Ecuador if England beats Sweden which by right they should, If Ecuador beat Germany, England may play Germany,,that would be interesting...Question for you how do you compare Ecuador V Brazil?

I seriously doubt it. Italy, and Brazil haven't been great, that said I still think they'd beat England. Anyone who has watched Spain, or especially Argentina who thinks that they'll fear England are deluded. Argentina were majestic the other day and would make England, or any team for that matter look like school boys with a display like that.

I think England always play better in the knockout situations. In games like those the likes of Gerrard,Owen and Rooney have proven time and again that they can perform. Most teams would prefer to avoid England as a result

They should be quaking in their boots. We havent hit top gear yet. Remember this not about playing your best in the first stages, all you need to do is win. England have done that and will get better
