I am a Boston Red Sox fan since 1967. I hated the Yankees every since Lou Pinella tore into Carlton Fisk and they broke Bill Lee's arm.
It has been said that the rivalery is now overblown.
I see it here now YANKEE"S SUCK , YANKEE"S SUCK YANKEE"S SUCK
Since I have seen it so much here on answers it is the written equilvant of eating too many hot dogs in one sitting. It's old it's worn out it's lame
Don't worry about the Yankees , watch the Toronto Blue Jays who seem to tie Boston hands.
Just wanted to state my case. Answer if you want but I am moving on. You should too

I want to add, Yankee fans hated Johnny Damon, Randy Johnson and a host of other players who are now on the yankees .
And they same can be said for David Wells who played for the Yankees , pitched for the Red Sox and helped them win a few games. Granted he isn't there now but still
So remember the player you hate today may help your team win next year

I am a Yankee fan.....But I do have to say that the Red Sox do have a hell of roster!

I just have to say to the above answer that said that Boston fans are kind, gentle and loving is the funniest thing I ever read. Gimme a break. Red Sox fans are just as mean, rude and obnoxious as Yankee fans.
I actually can't stand Red Sox fans more than the team itself. I would welcome any of the players on the Red Sox to come to the Yankees (at least then they would get a good shower and shave :)
I think the rivalry is overblown also - but I think the fans feed off of it.

Just what is your point??? That we Red Sox fans are to hard on the Yankees and their fans? Not so!! We are kind, gentle, and loving, especially when the Yankees lose. They could lose one hundred games, and Red Sox Nation would rejoice with every loss. Hear this again, my friend: Yankees suck!! That is a truism and it NEVER gets worn out!! True Sox fans do not move on!! They relish the present which has the Sox in first place, and they continue to hate the pinstripes from New York. YUK!!

90 percent of Yankee fans are bandwagon fans. This is part of the reason I hate the Yankees. The other reason I hate the Yanks is because THEY SUCK. GEORGE STEINBRINER is a douche
