Roger Moore was the best James Bond but Shawn Connery is the best actor.

the original and only Bond was Sean Connery - the books could have been written with him in mind. Moore was typecast as the Saint so he looked out of place as Bond, and Brosnan is just too immature. Casting a new actor when the original has been so successful is like a new singer doing a cover of an old hit song - it simply doesn't work.
