No children in this marriage, thank God. The mystery man should have been a big red flag, but she was so in LOVE that she did not see thered flasg. He would not share any personal information. Kept it all inside. He was raised by a strange mom and dad. They only communicate by email. So no emotion.

My dad was a great guy and also a great ladies man. I always thought he cheated because my mother was fat. I grew up to be anorexic and utterly adored dad. Just before he died he could tell I was really thin and I told him I didn't want to be fat like mother. He said "Jodie, don't you know the problem was not her weight...actually that never bothered me one way or the other...the problem was me and my character".

first, i am happy for her, she has learned what to not accept in her future, and her standards will now be higher, at the same time I am sorry for her pain. Men have affairs because they want to. They like to have other sex partners, the human male is not wired to be monogamous. This is simply a fact that women have to accept. However all hope is not lost. If a woman chooses to be married to a man, she needs to choose very wisely. If his conscience and morals are well developed, he most likely won't cheat on the woman he loves. It really is that simple. The undeveloped male will cheat, as his instincts are more animalistic. Not coming down on you guys, I think you're wonderful, merely stating fact. Hope this helps your daughter. Tell her to exercise much caution in future endeavors and always, always OBSERVE the male in question as he goes about daily life. How he reacts to other females in any given situation. How he behaves in any given situation. Observation is key before becoming too involved(read-physical)with anyone.

Because they are being selfish and self centered and are not happy with what they have at home. This is usually why and women do this too at times. Does not make it right by any means. How did he lead a double life? I would like to know more about this. I sure hope she finds happiness again someday. I feel bad for her. Do they have kids together?

Men have affairs because many just aren't happy with themselves and seek happiness in a change of partner. Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise for your daughter. If he was a mystery, maybe she needs someone who is more compassionate and sharing. I wish her the best.

some men dont like to commit to one person and its there right nott o,its not just his fault and im not saying it is your daughters fault but before you get married you know what your getting into,tweo people should only be together when they love each other when you know that the person is your soal mate or one true love,there is one for everyone and qwhen you find it both never want another soal,he perhaps jusat liked the fact he had ahome to come home to while he could still sleep around with other women,its a shame that after 8 years she had to waste so much of her time with someone whom she could of been meeting her one true love,he is out there and she will find him and she will know because her heart will be swept away like never before

I can't tell you why men have affairs, but I can tell you why people do. Men and women both do it most likely because they are bored and selfish. Some people get bored with the same sex.
