If you've got dust and dirt under your PSP screen, I would think that there's some sort of manufacturer's defect. If made correctly, there shouldn't be any openings because i'm thinking there would be some sort of gasket or seal to keep out contaminants. I'd call Sony and ask if it's normal, or if you've in fact got a defective PSP.
