I like short stories. Sometimes when I am tired I don't feel like involving myself with the characters for 300+ pages.
I really enjoy short stories that are vignettes,little snippets of life. I just finished reading a collection of LM Montgomery's and enjoyed them enormously. Yes, they are a little old fashioned and some are pieces that she folded into her novels but they gave me comfort.
Her novels too I have read and re read over the years.

i do not study a lot poetry. short memories are reliable now and again when I merely choose somewhat to study. yet I desire novels because the tale looks better 'complete'. i'd somewhat have time to study better about the characters and the international they stay in. i'm a author and that i have got here across that's a lot harder to create an entire plot in a short tale than in a unique.

I would read it if it was short stories of rommance or a mystery. I don't like novels that much. True funny stories would be fun to read.

it all depends on what kind of short stories. if they were all non fiction, i'd like to read a variety of stories, some with humor, some about the lessons of life, etc. If they were fiction only, they would have to make me laugh for me to read them, or have plausible characters. i like reading novels in romance, humor, adventure, and autobiographies.
So . . . it all depends on what kind of short stories.

writer to writer - novel. Genre - literary fiction - but not too heady or quirky - something real and unpretetious - just my opinion.
