Well, ya see.... Her husband tried to be a good guy and cook dinner. But he forgot to turn the stove off, and the cat that the kids just had to have ran across the shelf, knocked the box of tissues off, and they landed on the gas stove. Once that hits, it catches the wallpaper on fire that the woman just had to have, which in turn catches the cabinets on fire, and so on, so forth until the kitchen, family room, and dining room are on fire. That's why a woman is not safe in her own home. How to fix this? Don't let a man in the kitchen, or don't get married. Either one will work. Good luck!

It depends on her home security, location mind-set, and training, or lack thereof. I would highly recommend a solid security system, with motion detection on the outside, as well as the inside. If this is not economically feasible, a dog will do, given it's acute sense of hearing.
She must be aware of her surroundings at any given time, whether she's home, or not. I would advise any woman to take a self defense course.(My personal favorite is Krav Maga.) She need not become a prisoner in her home.
She needs to survey her surroundings when entering/exiting her car, or building, walk with a sense of purpose, have keys in hand, and expect the unexpected. Her tactical mind set may be the very thing that saves her life.

No one is safe, really. Sometimes there are people that break into people's homes, even when they're there! It's happened a few times around here, and sometimes people even get killed. But I'll have to admit, women are more likely to be in danger, because they seem like easy victims. I'm sure this is not always true, though.

It's not because she's a woman. We are all in danger (talk about paranoid). It depends on the neighborhood where you are at. And it depends upon your visibility to others (especially the creeps out there).
