Gotta change your routine. Set a time limit and stick to it.
Make sure you have something to DO when you get up from the computer to keep you from finding yourself in front of it again.
Turn if off when you're done. Sometimes, the idea that you need to wait 30 seconds or more for it to turn on will keep you away as well.

If you go on the Computer when you get home...put a timer on, or just set a time for yourself to be off and stick to it. Could also set up certain days only that you be on line. Do something constructive with your time...there are plenty of things to do outside as well as inside. You must make time for yourself by not tying yourself down to the computer. Have fun.

Yes. Find a non-computer related hobby. I know it's tough since everything can be researched on the web. Sports and outdoor activities are about your best bet. You can't really be using a computer if you are jogging, playing basketball, swimming, etc. Books are also a good non-computer item, but they can also strain your eyes. Yeah, outdoor stuff would be my pick.

it is unhealthy to sit infornt of any electronic device for long periods of time. I know this now because my cat used to watch me on a daily basis while I was on mine and ended up getting radiation cancer. Enough to make me want to stay away so much when I had to put him down. :( What I learned to do is keep myself busy doing something else and coming back after I finished one thing, leaving and repeating the steps slowly until I didn't feel I needed to be at that computer so much. Now after 2 yrs of constantly sitting on my butt, I only come to read mail, answer a few questions and sign off. :) Good luck!

Start reading books and the newspaper. Also make a list of tasks that you will need the computer for on a given day and stick to the list.

Find other things to do that you like more, hobbies, gardening or crafts, or take a walk or go swimming. You can cook or sew. You can volunteer at the SPCA or the hospital.
There are much better ways to find entertainment. Face-to-face with people is great. Join a club, take a class.

Make a daily to do list. Use computer time as a reward for doing all the other things on your list. Hope that helps

Keep a list on the desk right in front of you with things that need to be done on it. That way you can see all the things that you have to do. It'll put pressure on you to get off. Works for me.

Start by developing some social skills, and then begin leaving the house for greater periods of time each day. Maybe eventually you will find some friends, and eventually a lover maybe.

It's very not healthy to be infront of a tube monitor. LCD isn't that bad, just the flickering isn't too good for the eyes.
And of course the mouse if bad for your hand.
It's hard to stay off it, but maybe rent more videos to watch instead.
