I have several dislocated ribs due to a fall...doctor said nothing can be done...they hurt like hell, breathing, certain movement and sneezing (oww-wee!) took about 2 weeks to start healing and getting relief.

Dislocated is not a correct term but rather stretched intercostal muscles and tendons is more likely. I had a high school wrestling injury as you described. The symptoms are painful ribs when you breath, sneeze, cough or laugh... anything that moves the ribs. If you haven't seen a M.D. then get yourself in for x-rays. In the meantime try wearing an Ace bandage or something tight fitting to help keep the ribs stable. I had a special rib belt that went around the lower chest that cinched up with straps and velcro. It heals slowly and two weeks or more is likely.

Your ribs can definitely be dislocated.

I don't think you can dislocate your ribs, you can however fracture or break them if you are hit hard enough. I suggest you see a doctor.

The ribs cannot be dislocated.

dislocted? probably not, fractured more likely. if you do wear a brace or belt, make sure you do some deep breathing, and cough to prevent a pneumonia
