Yes, only once, because at the time I felt I didn't have the choice. It took 3 weeks before I started a new job, and I didn't have any money saved up. As a result I became behind on a couple of bills which really killed me and made it very difficult to catch up - even though I was only behind for one month.

So my recommendation would be to find another job before you quit your current job. The best scenario would be to have 3 months worth of salary saved up.

Good luck.

Yes, the Navy sucks so I cut 2 years off of my enlistment. I didn't expect them to let me go, so I hadn't prepared anything. I was unemployed for 4 months and then landed a job doing the same thing I did in the Navy for 5 times the pay.

YES! I worked at Wells Fargo and it SUCKED! I hated the way they cheated and lied to their customers. One day I left and never came back. I didn't give notice or anything. I found a better, more fulfilling job a few weeks later.

I did it once. Didn't want to do it, but I had to back up my principals. It was the scariest month of my life, not knowing if I would get a job in time for rent and food. But in retrospect, I have no regrets. I did what was right and didn't comprimise my principals.

Yes. I was working for the city bus company in austin, texas called Capital Metro and just wanted to try something new. I didn't work for 5months and then after that I was tired of being broke and my kids were wondering why I didn't work.

No. I would not recommend it unless the situation was unbearable. It's much easier to get a new job when you are currently employed.

Absolutely yes. Life is too short to be miserable, and it is really hard to go on interviews, etc. while working.
