Jun 18- Updating a continuing story, StLouis.Cardinals.MLB.com's Conor Nicholl reports St. Louis Cardinals 1B Albert Pujols (oblique) took grounders and short hops at first base before the team's game Sunday, June 18. He is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Monday, June 19, and will travel with the team on road trips for interleague play against the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers. However, if he were to come off the DL during that span, he would not be used as a designated hitter, according to Pujols and Cardinals manager Tony La Russa.

Jun 16- Pujols expressed optimism Friday about returning from the 15-day disabled list sooner than the St. Louis Cardinals had predicted. The Cards' first baseman is out with a strained side muscle but was on the field for drills at first base before Friday's game against the Colorado Rockies. He's eligible to come off the DL early next week. "I'm pretty excited," he said. "Real excited ...but I don't want to talk too quick until I get out there in the field."

Jason Isringhausen says Albert will play this Friday. I never knew Izzy was a doctor! Albert will only play if he plays at 1st base -- not aas a DH this weekend. On the other hand -- the Cards are 5 1/2 games in front. Why rush it?

He ought to yet through no potential is he everywhere close to the actual stature of Kenton James, James is tall reliable and quick, Pujols is in simple terms reliable. So definite he can yet he would nowhere evaluate to Lebron James, if it got here all the way down to both, p.s. they in undemanding words say that about lebron because he performed in intense college and became the enormous choice a million receiver contained in the state, kinda like Julius peppers ought to've been an fairly good basketball participant yet as a substitute he's an fairly good football participant... So definite he can, will absolutely everyone pick him on Thier team, probely no longer. he's a touch too fat yet he should be a respectable fullback definitally no longer linebacker or protecting end : )

I'd love to see him play Detroit, and face Justin Verlander.

He'd be 0-21 vs. The Tigers.

When his injury is healed, and not a minute sooner. The Cardinals would be nothing without him, one of the very best in the game today!!

Hope you agree.

Maybe by midweek, or the weekend. Apparently he's a fast healer.
