How do you get your parents to give you a CELL PHONE?

I have been trying to get my parents to give me a cell phone but they wont give me one! Not tell I am 16. I tried to ask my sister but she just says what my mom says! I am hoping you will help me!

show them that your responsible enough and they might consider it.... start doing odd jobs around the house to help out your parents for money and save up to buy your own phone

I am 12. And I got my cell phone like 2 weeks ago. My parents were going to give me one when I was 13 or 14 but I persuaded them to give me one.
Tell them 3 reasons why you need a cell phone:
1. To call them in case of an emergency.
2. So they can call you when they need to talk to you.
3. To call them when you need them to pick you up.
Tell them how you will be responsible:
1. Using it only for emergencies or when you need to be picked up.
2. Charging it all the time so they can reach you at all times.
3. Putting it in a case so you won't scratch it.
4. Keeping it in a safe place so you won't lose it.
5. Not texting 100 texts a month.
*Tell them you want a cheap but pretty phone*

Usually usin an example of why u'd need it would help. Say " in case of an emergency" or " so u can keep track of me at all times". Tat is a good reason and parents usually by it. DON'T say 2 talk 2 my friends. It's not a good reason and they will think u just want 2 run the bill.

I don't think it's as much you having a cell phone as it is the cost and responsibility that goes with one. you want it to talk to your friends, when you run over the monthly allotment of minutes, it's gets really costly really fast, can you really hang that phone up when the g/f is on the other end telling you how some boy is harrassing her or flirting with her? I don't think so. ask them to get you a prepaid phone, you can earn money for your minutes. there is no contract and you can claim it's for emergencies.

my mom bought me my first phone at 24 ...im 24 now if that makes any sense. i could have had one at 16 but i said no way. i still dont drive yet, and well i dont think im reponsible for it. cell phone is a right of passage for teens, but some do abuse the privilage. if u really feel u are mature for it, then save up for it. and work for it. it will mean more to u and u will respect yourself for it! sorry not ansswer u want, but my future children wil get same reponse as im saying now...u have to earn it!!!!!!! im able to afford my phone now and now that i have it..its not that much of a neccisty to me. its more of another expense sometiems i dont need. anyway listen to the wisdom of your parents. they might acutally know something!!!!

Start out by asking for something totally expensive and then work your way down to asking about the cell, then, tell them how responsible you will be with it.

sorry, i wouldnt give you one either... sorry, but my daughter wouldnt get one, until she is 16 either. there is no reason that you should have to have one. everything that you need a cell phone for you should be able to do on your parents house phone. sorry if that isnt the answer that you were looking for

Tell them that if they give you a cell phone they will be able to contact you anytime, any place. It's kind of like keeping you on a tight leash. Trust me, they'll like this idea.

well that was the same with me but... i just told my parents what if there is an emergency and i dont have a cell phone and no one is with me and something awful happens to me like i get kidnapped or raped or something bad wich god forbid it will lol anywayz... say all that then say if anything does happen to me just know it was your fault...

i'm just asking him to give me cell phone but when he is happy i'm asking him for new car
