When I saw Wynton Marsalis play in SF in 2004, he performed a piece that had been influenced by this Spanish[*] group he had performed with in New York a few months earlier. It was very distinct; people from several other concerts in the tour mentioned it on his message board (which is no longer working.) At the time, it had not been released on an album.

[*] I think I remember him mentioning the group was from Barcelona, but I could be mistaken. Apologies to Catalans if that turns out to be the case :-)

You've provided a lot of detail about the Spanish group that Wynton performed with, and yet the song did not feature the group. It was only influenced by this group, the name of which you don't remember. The name of the group is irrelevant to your question, given that your only interested in the name of the song, which you have provided almost no details about.

I would suggest calling up the venue in which Wynton performed in SF, and asking to speak to the concert performance coordinator, who would have overseen the logistics of the concert on the night. Ask that person to provide you with a soundtrack list of performed soung on the night, which are records they are required to keep on file for several years. They are not, however, required to provide information to the public, given that the freedom of information act does not apply, so I suggest you ask very nicely, perhaps including an incentive.
