Congratulations on getting your period. It usually last up to 7 days. The premenstrual symptoms last a few days before your period. It is good to learn to keep a calendar so you know when you are bloating. Day 1 is your period, and pms is usually day 21. Dont have sex at 11, and no birth control medicine. Respect your health so no medicine is needed. It is best to have hobbies to prepare for life ahead, and finish school. Blessings!

It depends for every girl... the average is 4-6 days. But it can be anywhere from 3 days to 7 days.

And yes, bloating and cramping is normal.

No, the birth control pill is not 100%.. why are you asking anyways? You're only 11.. I hope its not for sex. When it comes to your period thought birth control pills can help for headaches, cramps, and to lighten your period.

Talk to your mom, ask her why she wants you on birth control so bad.

* I just read the answer above mine.. WRONG.. birth control pills are not 100% effective against pregnancy.. even if you take them right and never miss a pill. Look it up, it's not. The only thing to garentee you don't get pregnant is to not have sex.

every woman is different. Some are lucky and have a period that is over with in 3 days. I'm one of the unlucky ones and bleed for a solid week. Birth control pills are very effective if taken correctly. But nothing is 100% other than NOT having sex. And yes, cramps and bloating are very normal.

No one's going to be able to tell you exactly how long your period will last. Your body will find its own cycle and you'll be able to best gauge it after a few months. I know for myself, when I first had mine, I only got it for 3 days... but my best friend had hers for 14 days.
Your cycle may or may not change as you get older and will change if you do go on birth control.

And speaking of birth control, no form of birth control is 100% effective even if you take it perfectly and without fail. The best way to guarantee you won't get pregnant is to not have sex.

When I got my period for the first time it only lasted a couple of days and I didn't get it again for a few months. You shouldnt be put on birth control you are only 11 yrs old. If you have any pain take a couple of pamprins and use those heating pads that goes on your panies(those can be found where the pads are at)

it usually lasts about a week, it varies among different people. I started when I was 11 too. Now I'm thirteen. Don't use birth control pills unless a doctor tells you to. They aren't good for you. Yes, bloating is normal. I don't usually but my sister does.

it will probably last about 4 days or so.. birth control pills do not work 100% to prevent pregnancy.. its like 98% or a little higher but there is always a slim chance

I too started my period at the age of 11 and it does very on days , but warm wash clothes on your stomache will help with the pain and exercise will help too. Birth control at your age sounds a little drastic , have your mother rethink her plans , there are alot risk taking them at such a young age.
