In the 60s, there were The Munsters and The Adams Family. In the 70s the Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family. And in the 00s. The Simpsons, The Family Guy. In the 80s, Eight is Another. In the 90s, Who's the Boss. Many others. TV changed quite a bit since the 50s with TV shows of functional families like Father Knows Best and Leave it to Beaver.

I would have to say the Bundys from Married with Children. The reason is just that they make any family feel better just by watching them. The ultimate stereotypes - the bumbling idiotic father always looking for an angle while hating his family, the self centered wife who complains about their lives but does nothing to support the family, the bimbo good looking daughter and the smart yet horny with no means of landing women son. Throw in the outwardly perfectly flawed neighbors and a dog who knows that this family is probably the one that he feels most superior to, and you have a basis for god knows how many punchlines.
I guess my favorite part of this show and this family is that it is not only lowest common denominator humor, but that it is truly funny. They never win, and why should they? And they never give up, and why should they?

Married With Children is the winner all the way....
while still being totally dysfunctional and over the top in so many things, they still were totally devoted to one another. They actually hit so many things right on just over done, Who wouldn't love the series?

Mama's Family is the one i choose becuase all of Mama's relatives are crazy Vint is slow as sloth Niomi is a big dumb blonde Eunice is 100% insane Ellen is to self abosred with herself and her Black Suvillle Buzz and Sona had problems she was a normal teenage girl who was out of it most of the time Buzz was just like his Dad Vint but a bit smarter then Bubba came to stay and he had his problems he was just like his mother Eunice the finally Ioal the anoyning neighbor who gave Mama so many kinited cozys for everything you could think of

I loved Who's The Boss with Alyssa Milano. I just loved it bcos of the fact that she fell for the dude who was suppose to be the house cleaner! *lol* But I still loved the show!
