Rubin, it is a comic book. NO ONE DIES in the comics. I say this as I OWN a comic book store and I have seen WAY TOOOOOO many heroes come 'back to life'.

Yes, the Kon El Superboy is dead and gone, and will stay gone as long as the Siegel estate holds the copyright for Superboy. DC lost it in a lawsuit earlier this year.

Superboy (Kal-El) was killed off in the mid 80's around the time of the original Infinity Crisis. When John Byrne relaunched Superman imediately after Crisis, it was decided that Superman never was Superboy. But they had to have a Superboy to inspire the Legion of Super-heroes in the 30th century. So it was decided that Superboy was from another dimension. After a battle with Byrne's Superman, Superboy gave his life to save the Legion. Thus allowing the Legion to exist, but to get rid of the original Superboy. So he died in an issue of the Legion series. (Sorry don't know the issue number off my head.)
After that he was replaced by a teenage Superman "clone" who used the name Superboy. Believe he is still around today, but I haven't read DC in several years.

Yup, cain got it.
The Siegel Estate won the rights to Superboy. There will not be even the remotest chance of that hero even coming back. From what I understand the Siegel Estate isn't even going to let DC have Superboy back.

He's already dead. He was killed by Superboy Prime during the Infinite Crises storyline.

The load of crap that Marv Wolfman and George Perez inflicted on the DC Universe 20 years ago in "Crisis On Infinite Earths" will be gone. Bring back Earth-Two!

well he has been killed, but, he will most likely come back, he was a character too loved to get rid of him so easily. And remeber that, after all he was a clone, so he can be cloned again ;-)
