When you say any kind of disks are we referring to floppy, CD or DVD? If you are trying to load a DVD using a CD-Rom it will not work. If other disks work but not one in particular then it is either in the wrong format or is a bad one. If nothing works like in a CD drive, it is possible that the drive itself is bad.

You really aren't too specfic, will it play music disks or data disks of your backups etc. If you are only talking about a program disk, read install instructions if you have them.. they'll say something like: insert disk. press Start / run. Type E:setup where E is your drive letter. (use what ever your drive letter is. That should do it if autorun is the only problem.
Another way: open Windows Explorer with the disk in and clk on the drive letter of the disk. Clk on the word Folders (on top) so you see the disk contents on the right of the screen. Look for a file named SETUP.EXE and dbl clk on it. The install disk should come up with a menu.
I wish I could be more help but you really didn't give enuf info. to troubleshoot.

Can you access the disk form My Computer? If you can, right click the drive and go to properties. Then Click the AutoPlay tab and click on the Prompt me each time to choose an action. Now try sticking in the disk and see if you see anything.

When was the last time you cleaned your cd-rom drive? Cd-roms need to be cleaned to be able to read the disk. Dust-smoking and animals dandruff may cloud the laser eye of the cd-rom to the point that it will no longer see the disk. You get these cleaner disks where ever cd-rom games and such are sold. Walmart-K mart and stores like them have this.

You probably need to new disk drives. It sounds like they are unable to read disks.

Did you go to Start--->RUN----> BROWSE and find the setup.exe file on the disc?
Is your CDROM working? Perhaps you need to clean your CDROM? Do you have enough memory? Have you run a spyware/adware/antivirus scan recently?
