Birth control pills is good also to prevent the formations of cyst in the oavrian and to shrink them too, because of a condition known as Policysit Ovariun.
I don't know from where he and you got the information that birth control is responsable for 70% of defective baby !!!!!
What is really going on between the two of you is he wants to get you pregnent, so if you don't want this be careful.
He seems to be a very controled person that wants things done by his wishes and not being resonable on listening to you and respecting your opinion and choices....the wosre is him frating to leave you if you don't do what he wants....Well, today is the birth control, tomorrow he will frat to leave you again if you don't do what he wants...If you really want to make your point about birth control, get an appointment with your gynecologist and ask him to come with you, there, with a specialist he won't be able to use this ridiculous argument, than I can bet, he will say something Iike I don't care what doctors say or you stop with the pill or I leave you.
The thing isn't about the sides effects of brith control pill but is him to get what he wants without being honest with you and tell you his real reasons....perharps if he tells he will feel obligated to you and he doesn't that.
I would leave him, not only for the frat which is inmature, ignorant and selfish, but for the fact of him being a person whom don't value your opinion and don't give you the right of make your own choices and decisions.
I hope you don't get upset with what I just told you, but I have good intentions on trying to give you a good advice.

Whoa- that's scary. You need to get that boy informed. There's a 98% chance you won't get pregnant if you use them right and a 93% chance you won't get pregnant if you take them irregularly like many women do. Those are the standard, hard facts. As for the 2-7% of women who get pregnant anyway, birth control pills are not supposed to affect the fetus. They keep you from ovulating- from producing an egg in the first place. If you do produce an egg anyway though, and he does inseminate you at the right time and you get pregnant, there shouldn't be any harm to the baby.
What I wonder is what he's getting at. He's talking about not wanting you if you stay on the pill (because he assumes you'll have long term problems or a defective baby). Anytime a boyfriend threatens you like that you have to ask yourself if it's worth it. Even if you do want to go off birth-control, this guy makes you scared that he might leave when he says things like that. I've been with a guy who did similar things- he was always about to leave me over this or that. I was always too afraid to do anything against him because I didn't want to make him mad. I figured I couldn't live without him...
and now, two years later I am living without him and happier because I'm not always worrying that my dude is going to leave me for some stupid reason.
If none of that rings true just ignore it. What's important is that you won't be harmed by the pill (I've been on it for 6 years). As for your unborn children, does he want to have kids now? Perhaps that's the real problem- he has an issue with your birth control and he shouldn't be worried about deformed children if he wasn't planning on being the father. Maybe you need to get to the heart of a deeper issue...

That's so retarted! Use common sense... tell him "Don't you think if 70% of women on birth control have defective babies that there would be a whole lot more defective babies out there?"
Does he not realize how many females take birth control pills? They are the best form of birth control next to abstinence.
If that doesn't work, make an appointment with your doctor and bring him with you. Or tell him to ask a doctor himself.

The pill was recently linked to permanent loss of sex drive... I think that is enough to scare me off!
I think the defective babies thing isn't proven (otherwise it would have been taken off the market).
I am unsure about long term side effects... and adding any hormones to my body or making it "think" it's pregnant seems rather unnatural to me.
... but that's just me...
Birth control is a very personal option, and since everything but the condom and spermacide forms affect YOU primarily... and the woman is obviously the one who bears the biological effects of birth control FAILING... it should be your choice, in the end, which wins out over what form of child prevention to use.

THERE HAVE BEEN STUDIES WHERE THEY SEEM TO BELIEVE THAT CERTAIN SYNTHETIC HORMONES, THAT ARE IN THE PILL ECT, CAN CAUSE CERTAIN TYPES OF CANCER, AS BREAST , OVARIAN, ECT, BUT THE COMPANIES, AND OTHERS LIKE TO DOWNPLAY THESE THINGS B/C OF THE MONIES INVOLVED. ITS LIKE THE FOOD WE EAT WITH ALL THE PRESERVATIVES, ALSO LINKED TO CERTAIN KINDS OF CANCERS. YOU WOULD THINK THAT A COUNTRY SO VAST IN TECHNOLOGY, WOULD HAVE HAD THAT PROBLEM SOLVED LONG AGO, BUT SINCE THE FAR LEFT HAS BEEN IN REIGN FOR MANY YEARS, THEY HAD OTHER ISSUES TO GET INDUCED, AS TRYING TO MAKE US ANOTHER 3RD WORLD COUNTRY, AND WE ARE GETTING THERE.JUDGING FROM WHAT THE TEACHERS ARE PLANTING IN OUR CHILDREN'S HEADS... THERE ARE OTHER ALTERNATIVES TO BIRTH CONTROL, AND ONE IS , THE INJECT IVE CREAM, BUT PEOPLE CAN BECOME CARELESS AS TO ITS PROPER USE, AND MAY NOT WORK FEO SOME, THE IUD, A DEVICE IMPLANTED , AND I GUESS YOU CAN HAVE IT REMOVED ANYTIME. YOU HAVE TO TALK TO SOMEONE WITH KNOWLEDGE ON THE SUBJECT OF THESE BIRTH CONTROL ISSUES, THEN THERE ARE THE MALE PROTECTION FACTORS, BUT MOST ARE SELFISH IN WANTING TO USE THEM, AND I THIN K IT IS DEPLORABLE THAT THE WOMAN HAS TO BE THE ONESOLEY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PREVENTION. GIVE YOUR PARTNER MAJOR DITTO'S FOR HIS CONCERN, AS MOST WOULD NOT BE AS THOUGHTFUL......
