Doesn't anyone look into these events ahead of time and try to place them at slightly different times? They will both be played Sunday July 9th during the same hours, although tennis starts earlier, they will overlap, barring rain delay or injury.

they are organised by different ppl ... so they don't care if it's on the same date as anything else.
My Advice - Watch the World Cup since it happens once in four yrs, wheras Wimbeldon happens every year!

Is is really on the same date & time? What a terrible mistake of them to make such a unthinkable decision. I mean the Wimbledon authorities.
Better watch the World Cup though, as they only comes once in every 4 year.
