It'd be an almost impossible task, maybe they could take over a small part-like Hawaii, or Alaska (again Herculean), well and the US has weapons of Mass Destruction and are not denying them, rather using that leverage to control the world.

In case of such an eventuality happening, that particular invading country is gonna have the whole world after it's as.s, and will have to run, that is assuming that the local Americans don't start using their arsenal of weapons that their gun laws permit them to own, the other country is gonna get their as.sholes pasted on the wall

A note to end - I am not an American and I am not from that fairy Blair's country, and have always been critical of US in most of my posts pertaining to them. The vulgar expressions (they are a part of most humans' bodies though) are meant not as an insult but to explain, to stress that under the present circumstances what you are asking is practically impossible.
Chill out!

As usual, American patriotism and your perceived sense of complete invisibility (if there is such a word) clouds your minds. An invasion of the United States is certainly possible. Economically, it would be disastrous as for the time being your economy is the largest and if anything happens there, the rest of the world would follow suit. Once China and India take over the US though, the possibility of war could increase. At least if the American government continues to bully the rest of the world. That administration has as much respect around the world as Saddam Hussein.
Anyway, if the US does get attacked which personnally, I hope not, a large portion of my family lives there. Don't worry, India, being the worlds largest democracy will come to your aid. This is however 50 to 60 years away anyway. No one has the military capacity to invade you now, but if you do, and I say if, there will definately be countries who will rush to your aid.

That is Iraq ... by the way.

Any country? It would Probably be a collation of forces from our Southern Neighbors. They would have to use Tactical Nukes to "plow the field" -- open a path of non-resistance through to whatever target of operation. From the fringe, you will have police, fire, and National Guard responding within 24 hours. Federal forces will respond sooner. Civilian population will respond as they can. Pity the poor bastards who fall in the hands of the civilians. Some would be taken to the authorities, most would be murdered on the spot. Within the first 30 days, or so, citizens would band together to make functional gorilla forces similar to the Underground of WWII. These forces, small but effective, would chew at the edgers of the occupation forces. The occupation forces would respond with chemical attacks. That would secure a dead zone of relative safety for the occupation forces. However, the federal forces would continue to press in. Loss of life on our side well within the 10% or our population. Losses to invading forces, within 4 to 6 years, 70%. This is just off the top of my head, based on what I have seen in history.

Anyone trying to invade the U.S.A. would be mowed down like dry grass under a John Deere lawn tractor with mulching blades.

Do you realize how many people own guns?

I think that is one of the reasons why the Russians never seriously considered a land invasion of the U.S. From teenagers to grandmothers, the invaders would be met with a hail of gunfire. I can just imagine the glee of the "good 'ol boys" down in Tennessee if someone tried invading. It would be like a huge rip-roarin' good time party for these Ford pickup driving sons of the Confederacy.

Good question....Americans wouldn't stand for it! There would be guerilla underground resistence factions all across the country...we would be kidnapping, killing, bombing and ambushing the invaders anyway we knew how. Funny, when America does it....it's o.k., Yet the Iraqi's are really bad, evil people because they are only doing what any people of an invaded country would do. GO FIGURE!

It is USA as in United States of America ! And it is Iraq ! If you think it was wrong for the United States to remove Saddam from power then you should go to Iraq and stand by your hero. Are you ready to go ?

Unless that country is Canada or Mexico, no nation on earth has the capability to invade the US.

I think what you mean is that we went to iraq for no reason. so, if any country we hate or are not allies with did the exact same thing we as an entire country would be very pissed off. i guess we need to think more about what are country does.

They'd fail miserably. Even if all our military might is overseas, we have the right to bear arms for a very specific reason--to repel foreign invasion.

We're a bunch of gun-toting rednecks! Trust me, nobody would want to invade us.

Probably nothing if they could win!!

It also depends who. Some countries may not like us that well, but would come to our aid if invaded by the wrong country!
